Anything Atherton Writes makes my day. This book of all of them was the most action-packed so far.

The most current of Athertons books this one focuses on the relationship between Lori and her children more, I think.

I never laughed so hard in my life. Raunchy but hilarious. The love scenes between the detective and the main character put in major sizzle. A huge plus for an already funny and intriquing read.

Excellent first book. I love the way the author makes what you think you know just a bit more twisted then you expected.

Read this with chocolate! It's a mouth-watering mystery. I loved the mix of information on chocolate and the mystery. Never too much of one or the other. The author has some really great characters here.

While I liked the characters and the plot was well written, I wish the aothor had allowed her characters to work more on the dolls to give a more detailed look into the world of dollmaking. Other then that it was a fun ride! I enjoyed the mother as much as the daughter, though she appeared much less in the book. I would read this author again. It will be interesting to see where she goes with her plots as she fleshes out her characters.

Great debut novel. Lots of action. I think men and woman both will find lots to love here. This Author seems to have that ability to make the mystery perfect for both sexes with not to much on either side. The addition of a mystery stranger will intrique woman and the action will have men turning pages. A real winner.

At first I hated this Character. I mean she is flipping out like every other minute. She seems very ditzy and the dialog gets hairy flipping to rapidly at times. Thank goodness the second novel is better written otherwise I would have had to write this athor off as skitzo. Read the first book to get the characters down, but trust me take breaks in between reads cause ...woooo doggie.

I have longed to read Alberich's story ever since first mention of him. Since this book hard to find in the library it was a delight to finally get my hands on it. It did not disappoint. If you come to love this one read "It takes a Theif" next, the portrayal of Alberich in this book makes him a firm favorite with me. Why can't I find a man like this...sigh.

Finally a real portrayal of a single mother!!! The main character is strong, couragous but just as loath to get involved in murder as I would be faced with the same situation. Not only are her children portrayed as having personalities similar to that of normal teens they also have character traits their mother would rather do without. The main character is not rich, in fact she works 3 jobs just to make ends meet. Her hardworking spirit is so like my own single mother that I wanted to cheer. It's about dern time a mom was portrayed as the tired lioness she really is.

The book style feels a little shy and tentitivly funny. I see great possibilities in this author. Her flow is spot on and the subject matter is never too overwhelming. By the end of the book I was looking forward to the next AND looking for craft gourds online.

This book was so similar to those by Christine Feehan I was not at all suprised to learn this author and she are aquainted and have worked on numerous books together. An excellent read for lovers of Sci-fantasy and romance both. If you dislike the verbal use of certain body parts namely the c-word in reference to a man's member you will want to skip this one. Not for young romance readers. I personally found this book a bit of a fun read.

Since I enjoy the facts she includes in her books I was happy to learn about the Yucca plant. It's always intriquing to see how she incorporates the plants into the actual mystery. This book was well in keeping with her past success. One of the things that Susan Wittig Albert does that always makes her books popular is the way in which she continues to flesh out her characters. It's what makes me excited when I discover a new one in the series because I want to know how my characters are progressing. This one didn't disappoint. Ruby is away attempting to deal with her mother who is slipping away into dimentia, not to mention stealing expensive scarves from high-end stores. While she is away the man she cares for is murdered. Ruby broke up with the man because he was so secretive about his past. Now it seems his past has caught up to him.

(We learned about Colin Flowler in the last book and wondered about his past now Albert allows us to find the answers along with China.)

As for China...Also hinted at in the last book was the secret to China's
father and his past as she discovers a brother she never knew about and is harshly forced to deal with past pain when her brother reveals that he believes her father was murdered.

Set to be one of the best of Alberts books I hightly recommend this book to anyone who has kept up with the series. This one is not to be Missed!
