This is an excellent book for fourth and fifth graders. There's also an accompanying movie that doesn't deviate too much from the book.

This is a well-written book. However, I found some parts verbose, and I hard time finishing it.

This is a great book for 5th graders and a good read aloud for 4th graders. There is also a great movie made in the 1960's that is safe to show your kids when the book is done.

This is a great story! Two of the highest readers in my fourth grade class are reading this book. There are many vocabulary words and references that they are not familiar with. It is proving to be a good learning experience for them.

This historical fiction book, based on the author's great grandmother, describes the joys and hardships of life in the Arizona Territories. Well written, it is a book that is hard to put down.
