I wish I would've read this when it first came out. It was published in 2012 when dual timeline books first became a trend. 10 years later and this is about the 30-40th one I've read and the format is a bit tired.
As with most dual timelines, I enjoyed the historical storyline, and the 'modern' one not so much.

Not a Lincoln Rhyme novel, but still pretty good.

I believe this is one of the first of the Alan Gregory series. It's very interesting to see how all of the characters in his future books meet!

I was not very thrilled with this book. In fact, I didn't even finish it.
I've read all of Vince Flynn's books and love the first ones in his Mitch Rapp series. However, the past couple seem to have become very political. This book is very much like that.
Every chapter seemed to be a lecture, and even though I agree with most of what he says, I feel he's trying too hard to inject politcal policies in what should be a great thriller.
Flynn should stick with what made Mitch such a great character; ie, faced paced stories with high intrigue and stop trying to play political pundit.

This book brought up some very interesting concepts. I will never look at a news story quite the same way again.
