This book was slow to warm for me. When I first started reading it, I thought Tim Dorsey would be nothing more than a Carl Hiaasen wanna-be trying to show off. I was almost convinced that was the case when he introduced so many characters and then didn't piece things together for about three quarters of the way through the book. But when things finally started coming together, I couldn't put this baby down! Now I am hooked and am going to start reading the second book in the series. Kudos.

This is a good one, but not as good as the first book, Florida Roadkill. Even so, I couldn't put it down! It's about a hotel where tons of crime lords go to hideout. Also, a major Florida hurricane takes place in the midst of all the crime. Great!! I'm on to the third book in the series...

I have decided to take on reading all the Tim Dorsey books in the order they were written. This is the third book in the series and it was by far the best one! I loved the politics and crazy characters involved. Marlon Conrad will be one of my favorite book characters from now on!
(Although, I do have to say that it reminded me of Skink a little bit --- Skink is a character in Carl Hiaasen's books that is very similar.)
Great read! Onto number four...
