An action packed continuation of 'Seven Deadly Wonders'. I would highly recommend reading that book first. Also would be a good idea to have the sequel to this book, "The Five Greatest Warriors" on hand, or at least plan on getting it soon after reading this one, as the cliffhanger is a good one! I'd rank it right up there with 'Who shot JR?'. I had to wait 4 months before it was released when I read Six sacred stones, and not knowing the ending, it was excruciating.

I like the Women's Murder Club stories, and this one is no exception, but I think this one was written for people with ADD. There wasn't a chapter that was more than 4 pages long, and there was plenty of empty space on pages that could have shrunk the book to about 200 pages. But beyond that, the story was a fast paced murder mystery that can be read in a few hours.

The plot was good, it kept moving, turning and twisting through to the end. Of course it would be helpful if you have read previous Women's Murder Club books, just to know the history of the characters and their relationships, but it isn't necessary. There is enough backstory to get through this book as a standalone.

I picked up this book because I have liked most of Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt series. I was a bit hesitant, since it is a period piece, and while I have enjoyed some westerns and some period pieces, they are usually not my cup of tea. The Chase, though was a thrill ride! I thoroughly enjoyed the Issac Bell character as well as the story. I couldn't put it down 'til I was finished.

I read this book based on an online recommendation where I input authors that I liked and they gave me the suggestion of reading Matthew Reilly. I did like the book, there was plenty of non-stop action/adventure, was an unpredictable, non-formula story. The only thing lacking in the book was character development. We are introduced to several characters throughout the book, but I never really connected with any of them because they were superficial. But considering this was Matthew Reilly's first book, written when he was 19, I definitely plan on reading more of his books. I expect more non-stop action/adventure, and hope to see more character development.

The Escape Artist is a non-stop suspense thriller. It was an easy read that I found very difficult to put down. I wanted to know what happened next. The way the characters are developed make you either love them or hate them. The backstories of the main characters are slowly revealed as the book progresses, which helps to understand why they did what they did. Overall a great book to curl up with and pass the time.

A quick read, but not too surprising of a mystery. The story was more about Roe's new marriage, than the mystery that she finally solves, which I had figured out half-way through the book. I like the character and it is a light-hearted read between the more intense thrillers that I usually read.

Bill Bryson is a wonderful story teller. The book is about his adventure hiking the Appalachian Trail, the people he meets along the way, facts, figures and history about the forests, the trail, and spots along the way. Just as several of his other travel books, this one is filled with wit, wisdom and a story like few are able to tell.

What I like most about a Buddy Guy concert (besides the awesome music) is the stories that he tells in between the songs. He is an amazing storytelling. This book is all those stories in one long narrative, written in his style of storytelling. The book is engaging and meanders among the many characters that Guy knew, worked with, and had great friendships with over his historic career as a cutting edge musician.
