Not one of Dan Brown's better books. From his offensive ideas about government spying (women are worried about someone reading their recipes? Really? As if that's all women e-mail each other about) to his predictable ending, this book was poorly written and poorly thought out. And the secret code everyone was fussing over? I figured it out several pages before the "super smart" characters did.

The worst in a steadily deteriorating series. There is no plot, but only a vague series of disconnected scenes that would work better as short stories than parts of a novel. The cave descriptions are tedious, and the earlier loose ends from the series are mostly ignored. Thankfully, this should be the last book in the series.

This is King's scariest novel. It takes the real and familiar and gives them a frightening twist. Don't read this alone on a dark night.

I've always enjoyed Madeline Baker's stories, but this one is top notch. Romance, a feisty, independent heroine, characters that grow and change throughout the story, even some humor--this novel has it all. Definitely a keeper, and highly recommended.
