Sally Mandell is always a delicious read. Though her books are more in the mainstream genre than the romance genre, her main focus is relationships between couples and families. This book sometimes made me both laugh and cry; but every page was a work of art.

The City Girl and the Country Doctor (Talk of the Neighborhood, Bk 5) (Silhouette Special Edition, No 1790) (Larger Print)

Although the title is rather unimaginative and the plot is nothing new, the characters are interesting and very likeable. It's a nice, romantic, comfortable read, especially for pet lovers!

Excellent book. Sally Mandel is a fantastic writer--truly one of the best writers of women's fiction today. This is one of my favorites, along with "A Change of Heart," which was her first book I read. I've read two or three of her other books, but this runs neck and neck for first place with "A change of Heart". She's witty, her characters are real, and you laugh and cry throughout the book, much as one does through life.

Good romance; slightly different than the usual, since it's set in New Orleans and many characters are French instead of British. Nice change from the norm.

Very good book; not as dark as some of Balogh's novels, but compelling all the same. It's so nice to actually like the main male character in the story, so many times authors make the male so arrogant and full of himself that it's hard to like him at all; but in this novel Stephen Huxtable is truly likeable, which is a refreshing change.

Sally Mandel, writer of "A Change of Heart", "Portrait of a Married Woman", and "Quinn", is one of my favorite writers. Her characters are funny, yet poignant, and although her books focus on relationships, her novels are more mainstream, rather than the romance genre. "A Time to Sing" is a good book, as good as "Quinn", although my personal favorites are "A Change of Heart" and "Portrait of a Married Woman". Mandel is always worth reading!

Interesting book, somewhat different from the typical regency romance; liked reading about a feminist female character/follower of Mary Wolstencraft's "A Vindication of the Rights of Women". The guy was typically thick headed and dense, however, which I always find rather frustrating.
