I really enjoyed this book. It is a story about a girl coming out of her shell of grief and loneliness and blossoming into the person she could be. She faced difficult situations and found her strengths.
Being American and not Australian I was a bit confused in the beginning, as the characters were in "high school" which means something different here. I finally figured out that the protagonist was about 12 years old and then it made more sense to me.

This book, copyrighted 2005, was published by Alabaster Books. Later republished by Worldwide in 2009 with a slightly different title: Hummingbird Falls (An Ellie Hastings Mystery). I was a bit confused by the difference in titles, wondering if this book "The Mysteries of Hummingbird Falls" was actually two books in one, but it is just the first book in the series.

This is a companion novella to the Westcott series, coming between books 6 and 7, so it should really be numbered 6.5, not 7. If someone at PBS can figure out how to list this correctly, it would probably be most helpful to all readers of the series.
It is very confusing to see two different books labeled as Book 7.
