Ex Libris: 100+ Books to Read and Reread
Review Date: 2/26/2021

I love reading and collecting books about books. But I had to stop reading it after the first 20 pages which is very rare for me. Instead of discussing the beauty of all these books she has read she used every single book discussion as a springboard to demonize one particular political party as well as the leaders of that party that she obviously hates. If I wanted to read a political book I would have bought one. This is just a political book in disguise. The books themselves that she was discussing are fictional pieces of literature and really are not connected to politics at all.

This book shows practical ways and homemade preparations to make shampoos, moisturizers, lotions, hand creams, facial masks, and other beauty products all naturally. It is not written in a recipe format but in a conversational format. It discusses what ingredients are healthy for you and what to use for different skin and hair ailments. Even though it was written in 1975 the information is the same as what is discussed in today's natural beauty books.

Helpful Score: 1

I used this book to teach my five year old son how to say his "s" sound properly. I was impressed on how easy it was to use this book. At the end of the 15 lessons my son was able to finally say the "s" sound and he has been saying it right ever since!

I took a class on this book and found it deep and informative. The back of the book states: "There is a major crisis in the church today that centers around the issue of identifying and training leaders to take up the task of the gospel for their generation." This book will show you the historical qualifications and practice of being a Christian leader. The author "lays out for the serious student a broad and deep discussion of what it means to be responsible for a group of 'followers'."

This book is a tasty treat to look at. Each recipe has a full color page devoted to a close up picture of the cookie being baked. The first few pages of the book are also full color pictures of all the cookies that can be made at a quick glance. And these cookie recipes are not your ordinary recipes. Each one is very unique in it's look and ingredients. The recipes are not hard to make at all. Some of the recipes are "Chocolate Mint Sandwiches", "Cream Cheese Swirl Blondies", "Candy Stripe Cookie Sticks", and "Hazelnut Cookies". There are 175 recipes and their pictures in this book.

There are 20 different quilt designs and each design sample is shown in color. There are detailed step-by-step instructions and lot's of "how to" quilting knowledge. For both the beginner and experienced quilter.

Telling God's Story: A Parents' Guide to Teaching the Bible (Telling God's Story)
Review Date: 1/8/2011

I downloaded a sample of this curriculum online to see what it was about. Beware! It is being marketed to Christian Homeschoolers but is really a wolf in sheep's clothing when it comes to what he wants us to teach our children about the Bible.
