Good story and likeable characters. There's some manufactured drama towards the end but it thankfully gets wrapped up quickly.

Not my favorite of the Donovan Brothers books. I really liked the heroine. For the most part, she had her stuff together. It was the hero that I found problematic and irritating.

I thought this book was terrible. I kept reading because I couldn't believe that it wasn't going to get better. The dialogue was stilted and the plot was ridiculous. I actually tried to abandon it on a plane one time but somehow found it back in my collection again.

I wanted to like this better than I actually did. The heroine spends the majority of the book growing up and hung up on another man. There was little to no development in the relationship between the "hero" and the heroine.

The first time I read this book, I didn't care for it. But for some reason, the storyline stuck in my head until I had convinced myself that I wanted to read it again. So I bought it and started reading and promptly remembered everything that had turned me off about it before. The heroine is an idiot, and the guy (no champ in the brains department either) is so mean to her. And then that stupid bit at the end about the real estate and her jerky father? I mean really, lets just throw in another contrived obstacle to them having a relationship.

Honestly, my first thought when I finished it was that I was never going to get back those few hours of my life I had wasted on it.

I liked this book. The plot and pacing were pretty good. The characters were maybe a little on the flat side so I'm hoping that's a little better in the next one. If you like Holly Black's faery tales, then you'll probably enjoy this one as well.
