Colleen McCullough is more famous for her book The Thornbirds, but she works her magic in Bittersweet as well. Bittersweet is about the coming of age of four sisters, all twins as they train for a new position, educated nurses in Austrailia. A great story of life and love in New South Wales in the early 1900's.

This is a collection of short stories by Maeve Binchy. All are good but somehow not as uplifting as her newer books.

If you enjoyed Union Street Bakery you will enjoy the follow up book in the series, Sweet Expectations. The three sisters that run the family bakery are sometimes at odds, but always there for each other. The bakery is in a very old building that retains the energy of the past. This creates some otherworldly experiences for the sisters, which is not as strange as it sounds. All in all, Sweet Expectations was an enjoyable, can't wait to see what happens type of book.
