I haven't liked any of Flagg's books since Fried Green Tomatoes, which I thought was brilliant. Can't Wait is much lighter fare, but it's an upper, with some good giggles. It's sweet and life affirming--an easy, fun read.

Gripping. It's bad enough when your beloved husband dies unexpectedly, but when it surfaces that he led a double life, the unreality is beyond belief.

If you like Dave Barry, much the same genre. And it you like to hike, it makes the book all the much funnier. Do you know how to react when encountering a black bear? What if it's a brown bear? Can you get close enough to tell the difference?

Well, I thought I was going to like this book since I was a French major and lived in France a long time ago. But I could not get through it. Maybe since the protagonist is a male in his 20s, I just couldn't relate.
