A wonderful book! Talia breaks free of her opressively restrictive family to become a Herald--Valdemar's messengers, defenders of justice, and all-around heroes. She faces adventures and danger and overcoming her own mistrust of others with the help of her magical Companion, Rolan.

Exile's Valor is a continuation of the tale begun in Exile's Honor: Alberich has found his niche at the Collegium as Weaponsmaster and Selenay is trying to fit into hers as the new Queen of Valdemar. The Council is busily trying to push Selenay into a "suitable" marriage, thinking her too young an inexperienced to rule alone, but she's not having any of it, and Talamir is increasingly withdrawn after the loss of his Companion Taver. A good book, and fairly entertaining, about a middle school misfit who finds out that the old Greek myths of gods and goddesses, heroes and monsters, are all true.

What an incredible writer! These stories though written a while back, are timeless- real edge of the seat at times and quite often VERY difficult to put down. I read them as a teen and now have my daughters quite addicted to her writing as well.

Levine has done it again: a Tale of Two Castles is a fun, fresh spin on the fairy tale world. Our heroine, Elodie, is new to Two Castles, a city with a dragon detective named Meenore, the ogre Count Ninth Um, a greedy king and many clever cats. Elodie soon lands in the midst of a mystery; will she puzzle out the answer in time?
