Like almost all of John Grisham's books, this one is written well, and involves many characters of varying degrees of moral compasses with interesting legal issues. An enjoyable read.

The Joy and Light Bus Company (No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Bk 22)
Review Date: 9/16/2023

I have never read any book in the series The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency that I haven't loved, and this one is no exception. The kind, introspective main characters and the well-considered plots always have a satisfactory ending.

Interesting plot, different from most. The main character, Nora Seed, is quite likeable in spite, or maybe because of, her lack of confidence and her depressive tendencies. I found myself pulling for her happiness.

Well-researched book about the difficulty of living on low-wage jobs. The author writes well, with a sense of humor and a great deal of compassion for the people she encountered.

I love dogs and I love Rick Bragg's writing, so this book seems like a natural choice for me. It's funny, of course, and heartfelt, no surprise there either.
