Who's on First? What's on Second? Mark the order on series books. You can include the name of the series in the marker, or just mark its place. Include the series by marking: Series Name #X. So for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: Harry Potter #1 For just the number (without the series) I recommend using numbers: 1st in series, 2nd in series, 3rd in series, etc... Some sources for book order: Fantastic Fiction, Stop, You're Killing Me! |

I did a bunch of Susan Conant's Dog Lover's Mysteries (cozies; detective is a dog-magazine columnist named Holly Winter) with #th in Series; I should go back and put them 'Holly Winter #1,' etc, I suppose. |

I still don't understand how tags work. I only trade audio books. Should I tag my whole booklist as " audio" ? Then if some one looks at tags they know it will be all audio ? |

I did a bunch of Susan Conant's Dog Lover's Mysteries (cozies; detective is a dog-magazine columnist named Holly Winter) with #th in Series; I should go back and put them 'Holly Winter #1,' etc, I suppose. Both tags will be useful for members. If someone is looking at a book and they see 2nd in series, that will help them avoid starting in the middle of a series. If it says "Series Name #" That will tell people which series and which number. A book with just Series Name as the tag would allow folks to click on that tag and find all the books in that series. Tags will be what we make of them. I won't force anyone to go back and re-tag something they've already invested a bunch of hours in. I'm more trying to help people get ideas for tagging the books they're currently reading with a variety of useful tags. If we each do a little at a time, the tags will be enormously useful. Larry, if you tag all your books as "audio" then when someone clicks on the "audio" tag, your books will come up. Another tag that's useful for audio is "CD" or "Cassette", the names of the readers, and "Abridged" or Unabridged". Check out Mission #4 for these suggestions.
