Not at all what I expected. I found this book to be pointless. There was very little background for the main character, Rosa Fiore. Her relationship with her first love is minutely detailed, I could not sympathize with her when she lost him. The book mainly focused on her "relationship" with her lover. Which, I found to be empty and completely physical. I grew wearisome of her cooking for every little bump on the road she came across. The author should of left out the "storyline", and made this into a cookbook. This book was a fast, but numb read.
