I have to say, this was not my favorite mystery book. Perhaps it's just that it was the first in the series. I do have "B is for Burglar", so I will give another one a chance. After all, I didn't especially enjoy Janet Evanovich's "One for the Money", but I loved "Two for the Dough."

I didn't find the central character, Private Investigator Kinsey Millhone, to be especially sympathetic. I became a little confused between some of the characters at one time. I found the writing to be a little "lumpy" at times. I didn't find the romantic interest to be very interesting. Sometimes there was a reference to something only briefly mentioned (and forgotten) earlier in the book. I did guess the ending long before it came. The book wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. It just kind of washed over me.
