I have a friend who quotes this book and uses it as practical knowledge in many life situations, and that's what this story was meant to do.

A fantastic presentation of real-life drama -- sentimental memories of a simpler time before the war; the fear, insecurity and hate of the war; and the healing after it.

God's loving and merciful Hand is shown throughout the book, in a kind, reverent and simple way. No preaching or Bible-thumping. Just a simple Love that permeates even the darkest depths of this true story.

No matter what your faith or your life situation, do not miss this book. Worth every minute.
