I enjoyed this book thoroughly. Set in a small town, the action moves at a lazy, small-town pace. However, the tensions the characters must resolve in the book strike a real-life chord and held my attention through a late-night reading session.

I appreciate that the author has written this book for grown-ups without feeling obligated to toss in inappropriate language or situations to "prove" how grown-up it is. Karon has also made faith an integral part of the story--not just for the Episcipalian priest who is the main character, but for all the characters in different ways. I look forward to reading more about Mitford.
