This book was an extremely fun journey, probably the most exciting of its genre I've read in the past year (next to Passage by Connie Willis)! I especially liked it because it took place in our "real" world but added a fairy tale/fantasy effect. It sort of justified my belief regarding the possibility that such creatures could really exist (although it WAS a fictitious novel). The book was very fun and could almost have been classified as a horror novel in my opinion.

The book's downside for me was when the story started to wander about 2/3 of the way through. I also thought the author threw in some characters and side stories that were irrelevant to the overall plot.

Nevertheless, I'm glad I discovered this book. :)
