What Ifs? of American History: Eminent Historians Imagine What Might Have Been (What If? (G.P. Putnam's Sons))

Although some chapters are a little dry, others are written in a lively, interesting style. (Each chapter is written by a different historian.) Some fascinating scenarios are created as we ponder the ramifications of Kennedy not being killed, George Washington failing at his first real skirmish, and others. It really makes you think about history as real stories about real people, and how some events turned on a dime.
