Book Review of The Kingdom of Matthias: A Story of Sex and Salvation in 19th-Century America

It is an interesting book on the development of fringe religious groups after the second great awakening. It reads in some parts like the penny press that covered the lives and trials of the people involved. It is also the only history book that I know of with a surprise ending.
