Before "The Secret" there was Norman Vincent Peale and Dale Carnegie. Even though this book was written over 50 years ago, it still applies to today's world. I'm a teacher and I've even applied it to my work. I tried to get books on "burnout" or "teaching methods" but they don't work because the authors have never been in an elementary classroom. Books on theory and classroom management are fine but I don't appreciate them being written by someone who's never stepped into an elementary classroom but graduated from a Ph.D. program and went on to teach college. Completely different world. So I looked around for something that was not "occupation specified" and found it with Dale Carnegie. I've used his advise and changed how I taught and how the students learned. Great book!
