A good collection of 'fantastic' 'pet' stories. Of course some of the creatures portrayed are neither all that fantastic, as in the sense of exotic or foreign, being household dogs and cats. And on the other hand, they might not necessarily BE exactly pets even if some of them LOOK like household dogs and cats!) Take your pick!
A really good look at humans and humanity from a NON-humanocentric viewpoint.
This short story anthology is about on a par for quality with the CATFANTASTIC series edited by Norton.

Interesting compedium of sci-fi short stories involving pets, some earthly but most out of this world. As in all collections there are a couple I would have preferred not to have but most are really good reading.
Pets play an important role in our lives, and that will always be the
case whether we remain on Earth or venture to distant stars. But what if our furred, feathered,or scaled companions aren't quite what they seem to be?What if some of them are really aliens in disguise?Or what if space travel requires us to genetically altar any animals we wish to bring along?Could we even find ourselves becoming the"pets" of some "superior" race of extraterrestrials?
