One of the worst written books I've ever had!

SPOLIERS-----

Takes place in the dead of winter with an ice storm happening, but no problem Claire's fiancé is so rich rich rich that he has a helicopter to get them around and anything else you need.

So many pages and pages of nonsense descriptions that just aren't needed you can skip and just go to the dialogue, oh yeah the dialogue between the couple is so juvenile and stupid it's hard to read, Ladd I guess was trying for cheeky cute banter but it fell flat for me

The story is about a murder of a cage fighter, but you have to keep going back forth--past to present etc. It's about the childhood of twins with an abusive father that home schools them (what? really?) but yet Ladd makes them sound like backwoods, illiterate, red-neck hillbilly idiots, if they don't fight and win then the father beats the crap out of them.

Then you have the mob connection and guess who? Black of course, the rich rich fiancé knows the head mob guy in St. Louis because of his brother, then there is the other story of a mobster wife or cousin or something that is keeping the fact that his son is alive and living close but the identity of those people has to be kept very very quiet but oh my goodness the husband works for Black. I mean okay how corny can this story get? I didn't stick with it to find out.

I just got tired of the whole thing and gave up, I don't recommend this to anyone.

Another thing--it's very tiresome of nearly every page having to tell how big her diamond ring is and how rich her boyfriend is and on and on---tiresome tiresome!

The first 2 or 3 in this series were good but this is the last one for me, no more Ladd, this is a terrible written book
