If you're looking for a story about infamous Bonnie and Clyde's murderous exploits, this is not the book. Walsh has written one for that- 'Side by Side a story of Bonnie and Clyde. This tome tries to explain how sweet, religious and studious Bonnelyn Parker ends up on the path to the ferocious and deadly Bonnie she becomes. It might be hard to believe that the sweet, innocent girl we meet at the beginning of the book turns into the woman we all have heard of. But then the world is full of infatuated girls/women who do downright stupid things for the man they love (or think they do). We also get a glimpse into the 1920's in America, speakeasy, bathtub gin and the stockmarket crash all play a part in Bonnie Parkers downward spiral into robbery, murder and a life on the lam.
