I really love this series and I really love these characters. Some series over time I think the characters become boring and trite. It's a hard trap to avoid. Val McDermid does it beautifully. I was as absorbed in what was going on in this book as the first one.

The mysteries kept me guessing until the end. And the interplay between Tony and Carol is quite good. I love that they are still unfolding in the books. Great stuff.

Found this to be boring, read nearly half of it and realized the plot didn't seem to be getting anywhere, there is no suspense or thriller about this, too many characters to keep track of and none of them are outstanding enough to remember, I'll try another book by her but I doubt I'll continue the series.
