I liked this book, it kept me eagerly reading to the finish, so 3.5 stars. The old caretakers part of the story is more interesting than Tessa and her sister. There is a good twist at the end that I did not see coming and I always like that. It was good while it lasted but not a keeper to reread.

This was an okay story. It started off strong but it didn't stay that way. It was enough to keep me going but barely. This was sort of 3 stories meshed together. We have the story of Tessa and her twin sister, then Oliver and Tessa and lastly, Deidre and Kitty. Although each story was okay, they all felt disjointed. Almost like they didn't really belong together. Especially the Deidre/Kitty story. This was almost like page filler in between. It could've been taken out and not missed at all. The writing was good but the way it was put together really wasn't.

I wanted to really like this book as much as her other books but I can barely give it the 3*

It has too many subplots and it gets confusing as it goes back and forth from one subplot to another then on to another, just too much happening that your head is spinning trying to keep up with each storyline

It starts close to the beginning by having the mystery of what came between Tessa and her sister, it takes the entire book to get to that mystery and when you do find out it just wasn't much of a 'twist' or a shock

Maxwell can weave a good story but if she keeps putting so many subplots into her books I'll give up on her books, it was just too confusing and at times just boring trying to keep up with everything happening
