I started to get a little tired of manipulative women and the men who just don't understand them.

Read the others in the series first. This is a very fun read but you need the background of the rest of The Belgariad.

After the Lord of the Rings trilogy this is the series I recommend to anyone wanting to read fantasy for the first time. Amazing series!

The Belgariad series contains some of the most real, enjoyable characters I have ever seen in the fantasy genre.

Castles and deserts, sorcerers, wizards, magical tokens, and a young man trying to find his way to put make sure the token reaches the right hands by a certain time. Damsels in distress, hordes of soldiers lead by black magic - all to fulfil an ages-old prophecy.

Good wins over Evils, but barely.

END OF THE QUEST
In the fourth book in the "Balgariad" series, Garion, Princess Ce'Nedra, and the rest of the band of travellers must fight their way across a desert infested with enemy soldiers in order to get back to Riva.

Castle of Wizardry carries on the magnificent epic of The Belgariad, begun in Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, and Magicians Gambit.
A fantasy set against a background of the war of men, Kings, and Gods that spanned seven thousand years-a novel of fate, strange lands, and a prophecy that must be fulfilled!
A must read.

Haven't read since a teen - more than 25 years ago - but thought enough of the author / series to keep ALL THESE YEARS. Purging the collection and it is time for this series to go.
