The second of the Emmy Lake Chronicles, featuring our favorite WWII lady reporter, Emmy. If a book about WWII can be called 'sweet', well, this is it. Emmy doesn't put up with anyone's nonsense. A fun read.

Set during WWII in England it's a wonderful glimpse into the manners and vocabulary of the times. The expectations of what is considered proper, the manner of speaking and slang of the day are a big part of the story. The characters continue to be developed in a normal way and hold your interest. I like this series very much - recommend it.
