Of the multiple writers of Amish fiction stories, Leslie Gould is my favorite. Nothing she has written that I've read is anything less than worth my time! As always, this book did not disappoint!

In this Amish version of Shakespeare's"Taming of the Shrew", Cate Miller is not your typical Amish woman as she would rather spend her time working side by side with her father or reading a good book than spend her time inside a house cleaning and cooking. She has scared away all of the single men in Paradise, Pennsylvania with her sharp tongue and stubborn attitude.

On the other-hand Cate is a smart, caring woman, almost to extremes. As I read this, I identified with her in many ways, and became frustrated with some of the people surrounding her. I was humbled by her willingness to change for those she loved, and by her extreme patience with her situation. The reference to Shakespeare was so subtle, and yet funny. This is not a girl meets boy, lives happily ever after book....the twists and turns make for excellent, interesting reading. By the end of the book, I wanted more. Highly recommended!!
