I have loved all the Kanner Lake Series but this one was especially good! It keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. It kept revealing things I hadn't expected. Brandilyn Collins is a great writer!

Following from the back of the book: Carla stared at the gun and David Thornby--or whatever his name was. Her mind fissured, one side pleading this was some sick joke, the other knowing it was not. Her throat ran dry, air backing up in her lungs. She swallowed. Please, you must have the wrong person. There's no reason for someone to want me dead. I don't have any enemies.

Then you'd best rethink your friends.

Realtor Carla Radling shows an "English Gentleman" a lakeside estate--and finds herself facing a gun. Who has hired this assassin to kill her and why?

Forced on the run, Carla must uncover the scathing secrets of her past. Secrets that could destroy some very powerful people.

"...fast-paced...(characters)beautifully developed---entertaining. --review by Publishers Weekly.

Now my review: This is book 3 of the Kanner Lake Series. In my opinion, this was the best one so far but they are all exciting and suspenseful. You don't want to put it down.

First book by this author--great!! Someone is trying to kill Carla and she seems to realize right from the first the only person that would want her dead. As she is on the run she stops by her home to dig in her 'secret' place the diary from when she was a teenager and knows this is the reason she is being hunted by a hitman so she can't reveal a damaging secret that will ruin people's lives.

I want more of her books.
