I will start with the statement that I do like this series, however, this one kind of fell flat for me about midway---

About the mid point is when the partners relationship takes a turn into romance and sex and from that point I felt the structure of the plot went down hill, it was pages and pages about the relationship along with the relationship of another detective and a Dr. (therapist) that I felt the story slacked up and it lost any thrill or suspense, by the mid point the suspense/thrill should be front and center but it was only the italics print at the beginning of each chapter that was the 'thoughts' of the killer that was supposed to be the suspense?
So only 3* just because it is readable but not great
