A fast moving, well told mystery. Lots of interesting characters and
complex interactions.

Mysterious doings at an old established posh art gallery in San Antonio culminate in a murder. Sweet mute Manuel sees something but understands only that he must clean up the trail of blood so carelessly left on the showroom's spotless floors. To sae him from being found guilty of murder, Henrie O puts him in danger of being murdered himself.

Ex-reporter Henrietta O'Dwyer Collins is contacted by a friend on the other side of the world, asking her to check on her granddaughter in San Antonio, Texas. Henrie O. packs her bags and heads to Iris Chavez's workplace, the Tesoros Gallery, where she finds out the Iris left without a word three days earlier. After filing a missing persons report with the police, Henrie O. hangs around the gallery and the attached Bed and Breakfast, trying to figure out why the family members are keeping secrets, and what they are covering up.

This story seemed to bog down in the middle for me. There was a lot of descriptions of San Antonio and the River Walk, and lots of descriptions of the Mexican art in the gallery. The last half of the book was more interesting, making all the family members possible murderers. My rating: 4 Stars.

Henrie O. is similar to Miss Marple. This book gives a good view of the San Antonio River Walk. It's a missing person case that has good suspense.
