Third in the series. Maybe a new reader would be fine starting here because - and this is getting SO annoying - I couldn't remember the plot of the last book or how Nolan's relationship with Remy came about, and it didn't seem to matter much. OTOH, a new reader would likely be completely mystified by Sam Easton and Melody, they don't serve a purpose this time and their only contribution could have been handled another way. None of the people on the "wrong" side of the investigation are in the least sympathetic so you feel nothing as the body count goes up. I thought there was remarkably little media frenzy shown considering the situation. Seems like the detectives as well as those being investigated should have been swarmed every time they set foot in public. There are nice fat clues that allowed me to guess the murderer. I like the relationship between Nolan and Al, I like the procedural aspects as they go about interviews, collaborating with the FBI and talking to the coroner etc. There's some really good bits of dialogue and description too. I would read the next in series.

This is the 3rd and last book in the series, which I didn't know
Maybe if you read them in order this one might make sense

The first 75 pages are nothing but confusing and introduces so many people your head is spinning

The use of 'big words' has you getting out the dictionary just know how to pronounce them and what they mean, and I mean in 75 pages? that is just frustrating and irritating!

I didn't like any of these characters introduced but maybe you should read the first 2 books, I have no desire to do that

The Monkeywrench series was a good one for Tracy but yet I got tired of it and it ended up just being tedious reading for me

I seriously doubt I'd pursue anymore by Tracy, she needs a better editor to tone down all the 'big words' and get the story better, the writing is awful and I'll put it on my 'worst written books' list
