The first person perspective of this novel is new to Linda Howard, but quite well done and extremely enjoyable!

Blair (the protagonist) quickly becomes a likable and quirky friend. As an outdoorsy, non-shopper, I was not predisposed to liking her high-maintenance personality but Blair's independence and strength quickly won me over! Linda Howard has outdone herself with this character. This is the first of two (so far) in the Blair Mallory series and I for one hope there will be more! Wyatt is a great male lead. Howard seems to excel at creating flawed yet likable characters that have an unexpected depth. She challenges your perception of happily ever after, yet still delivers one.

Don't eat or drink while reading this book or you might be in trouble. This is one of her very best books, the only thing better is the second book about Blair, Drop Dead Gorgeous. This is one book you can't put down, very fast paced and funny.

One of my least favorite books by this author. I didn't even bother reading the rest of the series. And I don't like the first person POV.

I have read this book a while ago and I loved it. Blair Mallory is hilarious. She is southern, feisty, and terribly high maintenance. Listening to the book is a real treat. The actress who does the reading has nailed the cute but petulant Blair. If I recall, the book was more detailed in the sex scenes but it does not take away from the story at all. Don't even think about listening to the CD version if you don't like sassy, whiney, charming, southern ladies with attitude. Blair is polarizing -- you either love her or hate her. I personally love her!

Funny book with good characters. You can't help but like Blair and her attitude. It is a good light entertaining read with quite a few laughs.

While I can usually stomach some of Howard's clueless leading ladies, Blair Mallory was not one of them. She constantly whined and threw tantrums when she didn't get her own way, and was stupid enough to fall for it every time Wyatt baited her. When he said, "You're a cheerleader. Someone must want you dead." I said out loud, "I know I do!" In fact, I was really hoping the assassin would take her, her obnoxious leading man, and her inane mother out.

This wasn't even an It's-so-bad-it's-good type of tale. It was just plain bad.
