All Through the Night (Troubleshooters, Bk 12) (Audio CD-MP3) (Unabridged)

Once again, Suzanne Brockmann delivers, continuing the love story started in Hot Target and Force of Nature. The story has less of her usual action packed drama but goes more toward the realistic (in a world with some very attractive people). We see a tiny bit of Gina and Max, Alyssa and Sam, Jane and Cosmo, and Joan and Mike, but not quite enough to satisfy me. . .I'd love to see more of them in future books. Still, the focus on Robin and Jules is deliberate and well done. . . I hope we continue to see more of them as the Troubleshooters series continues.

Suzanne Brockmann continues to impress me with her well written love stories featuring a diverse group of individuals. Jules' story with Robin is, to me, the feature story, and is amazingly done! Suzanne continues to create memorable characters that move from book to book, increasing the depth of the Troubleshooters world - which continues to be a microcosm of the real one.

Suzanne writes great love stories about people who may or may not be white, straight, or perfectly built - and the story isn't about any of those things exclusively, but those characteristics are built in seamlessly.

Standing in the Shadows is a fast, contemporary read - it has a stand alone plot (for those that like their sex with a story line) and (almost) as much time spent in the bedroom as on the plot line. Connor likes it a bit cave-man-like (a bit D/s in there), and his attitude is a bit alpha male. Still, the scenes are hot if you can get past the occasional lame comments. I'll definitely read more in the McCloud series (this is #2)! Shannon McKenna is more Lori Foster than Nora Roberts, so read with caution if you aren't into raunchy content.

The first person perspective of this novel is new to Linda Howard, but quite well done and extremely enjoyable!

Blair (the protagonist) quickly becomes a likable and quirky friend. As an outdoorsy, non-shopper, I was not predisposed to liking her high-maintenance personality but Blair's independence and strength quickly won me over! Linda Howard has outdone herself with this character. This is the first of two (so far) in the Blair Mallory series and I for one hope there will be more! Wyatt is a great male lead. Howard seems to excel at creating flawed yet likable characters that have an unexpected depth. She challenges your perception of happily ever after, yet still delivers one.

A light, highly enjoyable read - Blair and Wyatt have great chemistry!
