Love Denise Hildreth. Every book she's written has touched me whether through hysterical laughter or tears. This one just touched my heart. Great read!

The First Gardener is not what I was expecting, it was so much better. This book is so realistic, very much like what couples go through. It is sad, and at times hard to read, but the story pulled me into it and I could not put the book down. The story is about the first family, with inputs from the gardener, which makes it so interesting. I will be passing this book on to friends!

Jeremiah is the gardener for the governor of Tennessee. He loves this family of Gray, Mackenzie and their daughter Maddie. When tragedy strikes, Jeremiah helps the family and particularly Mackenzie through her grief.

I thought this was a well-written book and rather sad in parts. The overall story was excellent and at the end, the reader is told who Jeremiah the gardener really is.

I enjoyed this book a lot even though it was quite sad. Family tragedy brought the characters to their knees. Very well written and I was engrossed from the beginning. The reader walks with this family through tragedy, heartbreak and redemption. A lesson on how to deal with life's struggles
