Mission accomplished? Well, sort of . . .
"Get a horse!" That's what his boss had told him. And off Svetz went with the best intentions in the world. But finding a horse, especially when you've never seen one, was no easy matter, as Svetz quickly discovered. Undaunted and ready to set off again, Svetz headed into the past on another assignment: Bring back a sperm whale. And he tried, he really did. Then when he thought nothing else could possibly go wrong--somebody, or something, hijacked his time machine!
Great rib-tickling fantasy!

The first story in this book was so stupid that it put me off from reading the other stories.

Short stories and a couple novellas; short stories are humorous, about Svetz the time traveller; one novella in his teleportation series and one from the Magic Goes Away series. The best of these is the teleportation one, "Flash Crowd", about what might happen when people can instantly transport themselves to where something exciting is happening.
