I was so happy to see my library finally got this one on my recommendation! they also have his other books but I donated them.
This is one of the best detective series out there, now--I do think this one is overly long but I excuse Carter for that as he got a lot of information into this book without boring you to death and I didn't have to skip or skim anything
Yes, it was gruesome but what else does a serial killer do? they sure don't kill politely do they?
I think you can read most of his Hunter series as stand alones but yet there might be reference from other books in them, he always gives the details of Hunter's life which gives the reader insight to the detective
