Gautam Bhattacharya, a sports journalist is presently Sports Editor of the Ananda Bazar Patrika. He joined ABP way back in 1983,January as a Trainee Journalist with The Telegraph(Kolkata) . He can be described as the first man to bring altogether a very different dimension to Sports Writing . He has created many milestones not only in sports but also in mainstream journalism.
Gautam Bhattacharyya was born in Kolkata and brought up in downtown Chennai.In his early life, he lived with his family at Motilal Nehru Road, Kolkata(India).Later, he spent his childhood in MGRLand .His father was a Senior Accounts Officer with the Central Government(India).
Gautam Bhattacharya completed his schooling from Ballygunge Government High School. He later graduated from St. Xavier's College. Seven days before,The Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management entrance examination in January, 1983, he gave an interview to the then The Telegraph (Kolkata) editor, M J Akbar. He was asked to join The Telegraph (Kolkata) the same day.

He has written many books,some notable ones being "Bodyliner Birudhhe"(Against the bodyline) , "Bapi Bari Ja"(Go home Bapi) ,"Selebriti Ekhon Aapnio"(You are a celebrity too), 'Sach' (In Hindi, 'Sach' means TRUTH. And the book is basically biography on Sachin Tendulkar).
