We all know the calamitous story of John Wilkes Booth. And maybe Mary Surratt. But there were several more who were caught up in the horrifying story of President Abraham Lincoln's murder. Nora Fitzpatrick is an average young lady, living in Civil War era Washington DC. Unfortunately for her, she is living at Mrs. Surratt's boarding house, where the evil plan is hatched. She is caught up in the giant machination created by Booth. Being a native Washinngtonian myself, I enjoyed the references to the city, and the surrounding area. More than just a travel brochure,, it delves into the intricate planning by Mr, Booth, and the horrendous conditions faced by those incarcerated, if only on a whim. A good history lesson, written with compassion and understanding.
