This was suspenseful book that keeps you up until the end. It doesn't end like you would think it would. It was well written.

This book was not very good to me, which was a very big disappointment! The first Lisa Jackson book I read was Shiver and I loved it. But this one could not hold my interest. I think it was because I was not very into the main character. Dr Sam was pretty boring. The only thing I liked about her was that she found a good man. But other then that, she was snoozesville. I am, although, looking forward to reading the compainion book, Cold Blooded.

This was a wonderful story!! It kept me on the edge of my seat during the whole thing. Since I had just visited the wonderful city of New Orleans this summer, it made it all the more interesting. I definitely recommend this and can't wait to start the second book in the series!

This like all of Lisa Jackson books, is super. Lisa keeps you in suspense to the very end. You keep thinking that you have figured out you is the killer, only to find out it is the person that you least suspect. A must read.
If you read this then you want to read Cold Blooded, which is the second one in this series.

The romance took a back seat to the murders so don't let the title scare you off.

Another great thriller/mystery by Lisa Jackson! Popular late-night radio host Dr. Samantha Leeds is being terrorized by a mysterious caller who calls himself "John". Great read and descriptions of New Orleans make me almost feel as though I was there. Although...I wouldn't want to be in Samantha' shoes - waaaay too many murders and threats surrounding her!

Another one of the books i picked up on a whim, and it sat in my "to be read" pile for weeks. With nothing else to read i gave it a shot. I was not disappointed. It grabs you right away and has so many layers, it was hard to figure out who the killer was. Jackson kept me in suspense until the very end. Samantha is a late night radio "shrink", escaping from a terrible incident in Houston, but it has followed her to New Orleans. Ty Wheeler was a part of the Houston investigation, and is in New Orleans to meet Samantha so he can right a book. Little did he know he would fall for her and be immersed in the killers new game of revenge. Definitely a page-turner.

Radio pyschologist is stalked by someone connected to a listener who committed suicide years ago. Or so they thought it was suicide. But are jealous co-workers at the radio station possibly involved too? Who is the charming neighbor who just moved in nearby? Is he a good samaritan or the stalker?
A real page turner, this book kept me reading til late at night. Only disappointing factor for me was that the New Orleans setting didn't factor into the plot. I thought it would give me a nice trip down memory lane, especially since the series is called "New Orleans", but no such thing. Will read book 2 to follow up and see which characters reappear.

FIRST ONE DEAD BODY

A prostitute lies strangled in a seedy French Quarter hotel room. Miles away, in a rambling plantation house on the sultry shores of Lake Ponchartrain, popular late-night radio host Dr. Samantha Leeds receives a threatening crank call. All in a day's work for a celebrity. Who would think to link the two?
THEN ANOTHER

A second hooker's corpse turns up. Samantha's ominous caller persists, along with a mysterious female claiming to be a woman from her past - a woman who's been dead for years. With Detective Rick Bentz convinced that the serial killer prowling the shadowy streets of New Orleans is somebody close to Samantha, she doesn't dare trust anyone, especially not Ty Wheeler, her seductive new neighbor who seems to know more about her than a stranger should.

My second Lisa Jackson book, after reading "absolute Fear". I did not want to put the book down. The pace is fast and she puts a hint of guilt on different characters to keep you in suspense. I like the characters Bentz and Montoya, so much that I am reading that series in order of publication.

So Who is the Mystery Caller. You will have to read the book to the very end. Who should she trust? Nice pairing of characters and a good assortment of potential villians. How can the murders be tied to the pretty Psychologist who hosts the late night talk show. Some familiar detectives reappear to help solve this mystery.

FROM OUR EDITORS
Lisa Jackson keeps both the romance and suspense sizzling in Hot Blooded. Popular late-night radio host Dr. Samantha Leeds has a fan who'd like to love her to death...literally. The first time that Samantha received a threatening phone call as the body of a murdered prostitute was discovered in the New Orleans French Quarter, it seemed like pure coincidence. But then it happened again, and again, and the danger became clear. Now Dr. Sam has to face the fact that some Hot Blooded killer is out to get her -- and no one knows who it is. The police are convinced it's someone close to Sam. And Sam has to wonder about her mysterious new neighbor, Ty Wheeler, a handsome, sexy stranger who knows all too much about her. Could Ty know Sam's darkest secret, the one that someone has decided she must die for?
