This was a really interesting book. I had expected it to be a more detailed account of how a family recovers from this sort of tragedy, especially when they're in the public spotlight. I was glad to learn about their early years together, but felt that perhaps it was spread a little too thin trying to cover so much territory. It's not a book I need to keep on my shelves long term, but I'm really glad I read it and was very touched by it.

i was anticipating a wonderful book and i got what i wanted.
it is written in chapters with dates and places and by each author.
you follow them all over the world. they add children to the mix and it becomes more difficult to go around the world as a couple.
Bob is on the fast track to becoming and anchor when tragedy happens.
the extent of his injuries are mind boggling. the strenght of his family and friends is incredible and the man has amazing restorative powers.

great love and life story. A quick read and gives much insight on TBI's and how they affect a family. I loved Bob & Lee's life story and love for each other. Truly heartwarming. They know the meaning of "til death do us part."

Well written, inspiring story of the challenges and struggles that the Woodruffs endured following his injury. Told from the perspective and thoughts of the husband and the wife. Great read.

In December of 2005 Bob Woodruff was given the chance of a lifetime for a news journalist. He was to take over the evening news chair of the ABC network television news. In January of 2006 he was sent on assignment to cover the US invasion into Iraq. The marine tank he was riding in was hit by an IED. Bob was seriously injured. He had brain damage along with schrapnel and rocks thrown into his skull and neck. This is the story of his miraculous recovery. It is also written by his wife, Lee. She tells of the trials she went through suddenly being a single parent to 4 small children, taking over all the household chores while trying to be with Bob every day not knowing if he would ever walk or talk again. Would he ever wake up? If he did, would he even remember her and the kids? It was a very good read!
