Jana Kathryn Riess (born 1969) is a writer on American religions, with a focus on faiths such as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church or Mormon church) and The Church of Christ, Scientist.
Riess has a bachelors degree from Wellesley College. She received a masters in theology from the Princeton Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in American Religious studies from Columbia University.
