Jennifer Rardin (April 28, 1965 — September 20, 2010) was an American author. Rardin lived in Robinson, Illinois and had a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Eastern Illinois University. She is best known for the Jaz Parks series of urban fantasy novels.

Prior to becoming a professional author, she worked for a television station, as a child care provider, and a grant writer but always felt that writing was her calling. She completed three unpublished novels that she did not believe were up to a professional standard, but said, "I do believe they needed to be written. You can't perfect this craft if you don't practice it."

During a playful conversation with her husband one day, she confided that she "really liked vampires." His suggestion was that she should write about them. Rardin had not expected a serious reply, as she felt that it had "all been written" and that there was "nothing more to say." After further encouragement from her husband, she began her fourth attempt at a serious work of fiction.

Rardin died unexpectedly on September 20, 2010.Her death was noted as "an apparent suicide" in her hometown newspaper.
