Any one wanting to read a book that takes you on a interesting journy of discovery, Jumper is the book for you. I was hooked from the very beginning. I can't wait to read the second and third installments. It's action and adventure rolled into one great book.

Saw the dvd when it came out the beginning of June...went right out and got a copy of the book. So GOOD. However, "NO SPOILERS", but the book is VASTLY different than the movie.

As usual, books are even better...well, to me!
Just read it a 2nd time, 20+ days later, and was such fun to read again. I only reread a very rare few books. This one, for me, was worth it. Now I can share it!

I don't usually read this type of book (Science Fiction) but I am a true believer that someone wouldn't spend millions of dollars to make a movie if the book isn't worth it. In this case I was very right. This is a great coming of age story about an abused boy who comes to accept his gifts and himself for who he is. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes good story telling with something to say.

I thought it started with WAY too much attention to detail about the mundane aspects of the main character's day/life/actions, but there's logic behind. It makes sense later when the yound man executes his plans! Good read, easy, entertaining, escapist.

This book is a pretty easy read but drastically different than the movie....if someone has seen the movie and think this book is okay for their kids you may want to read it 1st. The book is a lot darker and may contain elements parents don't want their children to be aware of yet (Alcohol abuse, physical abuse, attempted rape) granted these things are glossed over and not described fully, however, they are still there.

Great book -- On its face it would look like a YA novel, with a teen-aged protagonist, youthful angst, first love, etc.

But it is definitely a great read for adults too.

I have read and re-read this many times. I like all of Gould's books, but this is probably my favorite.

This book was the basis for the 2008 motion picture by the same name. However, only the basic premise of a young man with the ability to instantaneously transport himself around the world, is shared. Thus the book and the movie complement each other, and the reader is left with an original experience even if they have seen the movie.

A fun exercise is to imagine what opportunities and pitfalls you would experience given the same ability. Try to see how many you considered that the author missed and vice verse.

Very enjoyable book. Tells the story of a young man growing up with a special talent and how he ties to use it properly.

This book was pretty good. Fairly well written and an easy read with pretty exciting climax. I did find it bogged down a bit in the middle, and certain details here and there I found a bit baffling, for example, the main character wears a necktie to a college house party. Huh? It was a decent read.
