Liked it as much as "Sword of Darkness," book one. Storyline is a mix of Arthur's tales, his knights, his magic, and a lot of humor thrown in. MacGregor definitely has a passion for Arthurian legend. Characters are memorable and unique, and very funny. Worth spending the credit. The sex is a bit more detailed than in book 1, but the story has enough foundation to back it up.

This is a great example of Kinley MacGregor/Sherilyn Kenyon's mix of action, romance, fantasy and humor. This is another installment that takes place after the fall of Camelot into the evil Morgen's hands. If you love Monty Python quotes and other silliness, you will thoroughly enjoy this time with the main character, Varian duFey!

Kinley McGregor a.k.a. Sherrilyn Kenyon has a winner in her Lords Of Avalon series. Her sense of humor interwoven with a dark Camelot and the worlds protectors, who are remnants of the Round Table, spin a great story. I read this in a few hours and was ready for another!

I went into to this book with the same lame idea it was going to be just another stupid romance (i really don't care much for lame romance) BUT this one isn't your typical book. The title caught my eye, "Knights of Darkness" and I was hopeing that it would have something to do with the "Merlin/Arthor" time line. I was not dissappointed at all! It was a WONDERFULL BOOK! A great plot with lots of wonderful charictures, good background into the Knights of the round table time line. You will find only two sexually related parts (both very mild) and not until close to the end. The rest is a lot of action, good laughs, hateing the bad guys, and wanting to know if there are other's in this series. :)

A+++++

This is the second story in a new series by Sherrilyn Kenyon under the pen name of Kinley McGregor.. Kenyon delivers a great tale in this book just as she does previously with her Dark Hunter series.. if you are a fan of Kenyon, this is a must read.. for lovers of fantasy with a Knights of the Round Table twist

I have enjoyed most of Kinley MacGregor's books, also the books she has written as Sherrilyn Kenyon, and this one was a terrific read! It is the 2nd in the Lords of Avalong series.

Welcome to the darkest side of Camelot...

For countless centuries, I've been the assassin for the infamous Merlin, even though the woman who birthed me sits at the right hand of our enemy, Morgen le Fey. Now both my mother and Morgen have decided that it's time I take my place on their side of this conflict.

Normally, telling them no wouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that the good guys I protect think that I'm an even worse demon than the ones we fight. Hmm, maybe they're right. I have to say that I do enjoy maiming anyone who gets in my way.

At least until my mother gives me a simple choice: join Morgen's Circle of the Damned or see an innocent woman die. I'm all for saving the innocent, but Merewyn isn't as innocent as she seems. And she's none too fond of the fact that her fate is in my dubious hands. Personally, I'm all for taking the easy way out, but leaving her to Morgen is rough, even for me. Now the only way to save both our lives is to face the evilest forces ever known--my mother and Morgen. And 2 people who know nothing of trust must learn to rely on each other or die: provided we don't kill eachother first.

I loved the imagery! Quite the imagination. The forest that the characters get trapped in is a little "Princess Bride" like with it's "Pit of Despair", etc. The banter between the characters is also pretty amusing, with quotes from Monty Python's Holy Grail and "Spamalot".

The characters make me really and truely laugh out loud and other time out right cry.
Take a chance of this series, I'll bet you love it as much as I do.

Here's a new take on the legends surrounding King Arthur and the tales of Camelot. The author also writes another popular fantasy series under the name Sherrilyn Kenyon.

From back cover: Welcome to the darkest side of Camelot... Not your typical romance novel; reminded me alot of Piers Anthony's Zanth works. I chuckled most of the way through. Camelot, Avalon, Knights of the Round Table, evil-evil-evil women, Monty Python, Spamalot & Holy Grail, trust issues, one foolish girl and a very handsome yet despised knight, and majick! Kinley MacGregor is an alias for Sherrilyn Kenyon of Dark Hunter and BAD series fame.

Interesting take on the Arthurian legend. A "dark" knight risks all to return to Camelot to avenge the death of a grail knight. He becomes involved with a servant and his true colors shine. Who could resist a book with references to Monty Python and Spamalot? Oh and the "pet" rock is a hoot! 3.5 stars

As always, Kinley MacGregor has written a terrific book. Knight of Darkness picks up (sorta) where Sword of Darkness left off with Morgen and her minions still trying to bring down Avalon and overtake the world with evil. BUT...it's not necessary to have read Sword of Darkness to understand what's going on here. Aside from a few references to characters from the first book, the plot of Knight doesn't hinge on what readers already know from Sword.

First in the Lords of Avalon series, this is a new twist on the Arthurian legend where you just have to love the "bad" guy. Varian has known almost nothing but hatred and being despised by those who should have protected him and from birth he has carried the seeds of good and evil at war within him. Which seed will grow and choke out the other. Enter a new kind of Camelot and Avalon--you won't want to leave.
