Worth ten stars!

Original, suspenseful, believable, intelligently written - what more could you want in a crime thriller?

Will keep you guessing, especially in the second half of the book. Who is really conning whom?

Best book I have read this year! Clever, clever, clever tale! I must say I kept hearing good things about this book and seeing good reviews. In my book circles no one had anything negative to say about it. I finally got it on kindle and it started well with a murder on Halloween night. It is told from several characters' perspectives and the timeline leading up to Halloween night as well as the investigation following the fateful night. It seemed to me like a murder mystery with some despicable characters who are capable of atrocities and a mentally unstable protagonist with a dark side. So I began to wonder about the hype. I was thinking I just didn't get it. Then everything changes and BAM. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough and my head was spinning trying to keep up. I am so impressed with the mind of Ellis for such an intelligent thriller with so many surprising elements and creative twists! Wow! I want more.
