This story doesn't really get going until about half way through the book. A quirky, frightened girl works in a quirky bookstore, with a quirky owner. Touching at times, especially when her parents are concerned.
This book had my attention with the title and the location. Ms. Butland's book is the story of the making of a person from the start to the not finished yet. The word's are written from Loveday's perspective; her ten year old self to her present life. There are parts of this book I will always remember and it will be on my list of books to reread. Bottom line, it is about the power of love.
